Embroideries

It didn’t take much resources to take it up and start embroidering. It took time to motivate me, with 2 young children to look after. I simply used old bedspreads of my baby, which was seldom used. The first one I started was one inspired by my husband’s love of Bengali villages. He loves a lot to think about his childhood and adolescent years.

I planned to include everything that happens in a typical day in a Bengali village. I included women bringing water from nearby waterborne and village houses. Logpress to process riceflours and crop fields. Kids playing popular Bengali games like skipping rope, fishermen, kids playing in the water. Swans and ducks and chickens.  A farmer boy playing flute in his leisure. A cow driven cart. Oh also the bangle seller women

I also have this Monet inspired embroidery done to present a close friend’s housewarming gift. This honestly needed a lot of work. But was a very quick to finish.

I had another one done from a pinterest pin of Thaiyal, but I gave it a personal touch with making it a lonely journey. Symbolic to our journey of life, picking the lilies on our way.

Some quick pieces for my kids’ teachers for christmas.

I also embroidered one to commemorate my baby’s love for the famous Bengali song Deora by cook studio Bangla, with the performance of Islamuddin Palakar, covering the Folk songs named Jari and Sari.

Since Coca-Cola is sponsoring Israel and contributing to the murder and rape of women and children and stealing land from another country, I won’t share the link to the song.

I have at last this tiny monet inspired three inch hoop frame below. Finished this one in 2 hours.
